The One from Hell...

Today was going to be a great day. I have the whole week off work for Christmas, took the little one to day care, and took the big one to the mall. I thought it would be fun for him to pick out his own Christmas present for his little sister. Plus, he hardly ever gets to go and do without the little one. As we all know, the little ones pretty much dictate what goes on in a house. He is a SUPER sport about it all, so we went on a journey. I successfully suggested that we go to Build a Bear and, well, build her a bear... She LOVES the kitty that he built for her before she was born, so off we went. He picked out a super soft Penguin for her and named her Penny. We got a couple of other gifts, ate some lunch, and headed home. My sister-in-law and her family arrived at my in-law's last night, so we stopped by there to see them on the way home. The plan was to get home and get a couple of cards made before we went to pick up the little bit.

Shortly after getting home, the boy began to scream in agony about his ear hurting. This persisted until almost 630pm, when he fell asleep in my lap. Mind you, he is almost 7 and over 4 feet tall. It was quite a sight. Bless his heart, he is still sleeping, no dinner, no nothing. I sure do hope he feels better in the morning.

I did get a couple of cards done, and here they are...

The One with the Pictures... FINALLY!

OK, so it is been another month. I really pushed the envelope (no pun intended) to get my Christmas cards out this year. Not sure what happened, but I am blaming it on how late Thanksgiving was this year. Truthfully, it is more likely due to my inclination to procrastinate! Nevertheless, they are in the mail, and will hopefully be delivered before Christmas... Here are some pictures of my finished card. I'm pretty proud of it right now, but I was also proud of last year's, and when I looked at it this year it seemed VERY plain...

I blame it on my BFF who keeps getting me addicted to all these coolie gadgets!

The One That Went Too Long...

Wow, it has been a month since I have posted anything... Not good. I have done many cool projects, including my first paid Wedding Invitation order, but have not had time to photograph the finished product and post it. I also made a cool card for my friend with a new cuttlebug card set that I bought. It turned out really cool, unfortunately, she will probably see it here first, since I have FAILED MISERABLY to get it in the mail and now she is moving. Oh well, I am quite sure she is used to my failure to get to the freakin post office.

I have really got to get on the ball making my Christmas cards, or they will end up being Valentines cards. Not good either.

So, until I have time to post some pictures of my papercrafts, here are some of my favorite people in the world. The are loving more than usual, since I have lost my voice. I am trying very hard to not throw things to get their attention... :)

The One on Boss's Day

Today was boss's day. Seems to me that everyday is boss's day, as they get to be in charge of everything, but nonetheless, Hallmark made a day. Cards we must make...

I get elected to do all the cards by my co-workers... This one unfortunately I found out about last night. Three cards I had to make, and they all looked like this with the exception of the color of the background.

They were all very happy with their cards. I just think people appreciate hand made things these days. I think I would get lynched if I gave someone a store bought card anymore...

The One that Went BOOO!

Every year at my office we do the "Boo" gift exchange. It's where someone gets a little something and anonymously leaves it on someone else's desk along with a BOO card. Then that person hangs up the card so that everyone knows they have been Boo'd, and then they BOO someone else. And on, and on. You get it...

Normally, we use this over-copied xerox of a ghost that tells the instructions for the game, but this year I decided to amp things up a bit, and I put the Cricut to use making new BOO cards. Here are some pictures...

The One with the Soccer Banner

So, I finally managed to get my camera uploaded to my computer so I could share a picture of the banner I made for my son's soccer team. I seem to be getting lots of looks for it, but then again, we do live in the country, and not many folks out here are into the super-gadgets like the Cricut! It is pretty high-speed compared to the felt and PVC pipes that most of the teams have!

Am now working on boss's day cards and halloween cards for my office. Will post when I have a chance to take some photos.
Oh yeah, and by the way... One would think that since I haven't posted in over 2 weeks that I have ACTUALLY been busy organizing my stuff as I said in my last post... Not so. I think that my husband is going to divorce me now because he spent all that time finishing my table, and I haven't even started working on it yet... I can't seem to muster the energy to start sifting and sorting... Maybe the mood will strike soon.

The One with the Day O' Fun!

So, today I had the day off of work. I worked a ton last weekend, and was able to flex my time and take today off. WOO HOO! My lovely husband took the kids to school and went to work, leaving me with the house to myself ALL DAY! **BLISS**

I had birthday cards to do, as well as a banner for my son's soccer team, so I decided to play with some toys that I had yet to use. 1) The markers for the Cricut and 2) my new Cuttlebug!! The markers were actually pretty cool, but I was doing 12x12 letters so the markers made a nice outline around them. I have heard that many people wish they were finer point, which I can see, but for this project they worked nicely. I will post a picture of the banner tomorrow when I get one at the field.

The birthday cards were my first experiment with the Cuttlebug. I used the swiss dots and somekind of floral embossing folder. I can't remember what it's called, and I threw away the package **sigh** I like the way these cards turned out tho. With those two embossing folders and the package (doodlecharms, birthday hat (doodlecharms), and parentheses (George) from the Cricut, I think the recipients will like them. Oh yeah, I inked the edges of everthing with chocolate chalk ink. I am working on my inking technique, haven't perfected it yet, but it looks OK I guess.

Tomorrow I am working on getting all my supplies sorted out so I can move everything onto my new table that my husband built for me to work on. I have stuff EVERYWHERE, so I am bound to find some hidden treasures in my pursuit of organization!

The One With The New Toy

OK, so my BFF finally convinced me that I need a Cuttlebug, and lo and behold, Hobby Lobby had it on sale... My newest addition to my crafting arsenal is now on my table. I am hopeful that one day this week I will actually have time to play with it. I have run some scraps through it and WOW it is COOL! It will go onto the "Why did you wait so long" list of things I have bought. Also on the list are:
Cricut
DVR
Laptop
Digital SLR
DVD player for the car
Well, you get the picture... I will work on getting something made with my newest addition and post it on here this week. My boss's birthday is coming up, so that will probably be the excuse I use to get it going...

The One with the Anniversary Invite

I think that this might be my best work so far. We threw a party for my inlaws' 50th anniversary, so I volunteered to take care of the invitations. With the help of my trusty elf (oops, BEST elf) in California, I was able to put together a pretty good product if I do say so myself. I LOVE LOVE LOVE Fibermark paper. The "pouch" as people are calling it, was made from the Fibermark Shantung series, which is great paper. Almost like fabric. I used my Cricut to cut out everything. It was a lot of fun, but I was really glad when they were all done!

The One with the First Post

So, after catching so many super creative blogs out there, I decided I would try this thing. As usual, I am WAYYY behind the times. I love to papercraft, and I do almost everything on the computer, so I am not sure why it took me so long to set one of these up...but here I am. The blogs I visit on a regular basis (OkieLady, BBTB, Capadia etc) have helped me sooo much with Cricut information and ideas, as well as general crafting knowledge. They are invaluable. I entertain no such notion that I would be in that league, but wanted an easy way to share what I am up to...

So, welcome, and hopefully soon I will have time to post some stuff...
